This video covers it all for those wanting to light up their fire gear for the first time. Many people laugh at safety in the fire community for some reason but let me tell you, it will catch up to you and it won't be a pretty sight. This video covers the basics of what safety skills you need to know, safety gear to carry, and how to spin 'cleanly' (i.e., not spray fuel everywhere) as well as spotting for those spinning fire. In addition to this fully covered briefing, you can watch an interview with 'Pele', a fire breather, talk about how mistakes with fire can not only change your life in a big way but also those around you. (And many people say, "I don't care if I hurt myself... I just don't want to hurt anyone else when I spin." Well... this is a wake up call. What affects you, affects everyone around you.)

Lastly, there is a lengthy interview and inspiring performance by 'Sage' who talks about her journey discovering the various forms of fire and non-fire spinning. Fire fans, fire crown, fire batons, fire & LED short staves, fire (long) staff, fire, LED, flag, and streamer poi... I think she pretty much covers it all! And she's fantastic... A must watch for anyone curious about fire (and non-fire) spinning.
